Swaziland part 3

After a couple of days at the Lidwala Lodge we made our way across the country to the Mbuluzi nature reserve where we would stay for most of the trip. We were immediately met in the reserve by some giraffes and impala, and we got all very excited. A little exhausted, but Steph and I managed to bag a good tent! All the tents were massive and with proper larger mattresses. So happy. The centre was run by several people, including an American called Morgan, two lovely women who kept the place tidy, clean and made us food everyday, and several locals like Muzi and Mduduzi who were part of the organisation that had organised this trip for us, called All Out Africa.

The showers were very scary at first! They had no doors or curtains, it was literally you and nature two steps away! Cold water turned out to be a familiar situation on most days, but I didn’t mind it as it was usually hot on most days anyway. A shower in the morning looking out on lush green vegetation, listening to tropical bird song, and even on one day spotting some monkeys jumping in the trees above, was quite enjoyable and refreshing.
