Batemans bay

After Canberra we drove to Batemans Bay, a beautiful little town by the coast! I absolutely loved the atmosphere of this place, it was so relaxed and incredibly friendly. The weather was stunning and the motel we stayed in was beautiful! The area was an important part of a marine park too, with a large area being reserves and sanctuary zones for marine life, including birds, fish, seals and sharks! I wish we had some more time there, we only had one night, as there seemed to be some great opportunities for snorkelling and diving. I would love to work for the environmental agencies that work in that area, I could even picture myself living there for a while! I think in retrospect Bateman’s Bay is a little treasure with all the opportunities as the more advertised and touristy Jervis Bay, but more peaceful and less commercial.

The hotel didn’t actually do breakfast, but had a deal with one of the restaurants down the promenade, so in the morning we enjoyed a beautiful walk along the seafront before sitting out in the morning sunshine, looking out on the harbour and a group of pelicans, and tucking into a delicious breakfast; Egg’s Benedict with smoked salmon and ice cold apple juice.
