On Sunday the 1 Friends road household (Emily, David, Nathan, Luke and I) decided we should go on an outing in the lovely weather to the Broads. We had an early start and set off towards Stalham by car. We went to a boat hiring company and was greeted by a prank-loving man who successfully fooled us in thinking all the boats were hired out already (it was 9 in the morning) and everywhere else. We were confused but tired, so accepted his word and started heading back to the car. He then started laughing and told us he was joking, but still a bit confused we were all like “yeah ok cool, no problem, thanks anyway, see you later”. Eventually we caught on and shortly after we were setting off on the broads in our little boat for 5 towards Barton Broad and beyond! When we set off it was misty with a lovely morning freshness in the air, but as the day went on the weather turned into blue skies and beaming sunlight. It was a wonderful day of pottering around on a boat in the sunshine, waving to by passing boaters and spotting wildlife. We also moored by How Hill secrete gardens for a spot of lunch in the boat, and a little walk around their gardens. We also stopped by a cafe in Ludham for a refreshing drink and cream to for David and Emily. It was a super super day! In the evening the gang entered in my photography competition that I had created for our day out, with “Floating” as the theme. Everyone’s pictures from the day were really good, but in the end I settled for giving first prize to David for his insect stuck in a spiders web, floating both physically in the photo and also “between reality and the next life”. It was a lot of laughs, and of course, everyone won a prize anyway!
