The fledgling

“Acquire the feathers necessary for flight or independent activity and to leave the nest.”

A blog originally created at 18 to follow me during my fledging to university, to document precious moments, friendships and emotions as I took my first steps into the world of independence. The blog was a sort of open diary where I could write about my thoughts and experiences in what was the “the real world”. During the summer of 2013 I moved from my dear home in Norway to England where I went to study ecology at UEA in Norwich. Later, in 2015-2016, I was to set of on another adventure, on a year exchange at UOW in Australia. I subsequently returned from that magical adventure, stressed my way through a dissertation, graduated, and then moved back to Norway.

I now find myself wondering if maybe I no longer am a little fledgling and in fact… fledged? On the other hand I now find myself thrust into a new aspect of adult life, from job seeking to dreaming about owning my own home one day. So maybe that unfledged feeling justifies continuing to have this blog in my life?
